The Property Services Regulatory Authority has announced the publication of its Annual Report for 2024. The report presents an overview of the activities and outputs of the Authority during 2024.
Commenting on the publication of the Annual Report, Mr. Michael Quinlan, Chairperson of the Board of the Authority, stated:
“Throughout 2024, the Authority remained focused on fulfilling its statutory responsibilities, while making significant progress towards implementing our strategic goals. The Authority continues to deliver a comprehensive licensing system, along with an ongoing commitment and proactive approach to the safeguarding of consumer protection and to maintaining oversight and professionalism in the property services sector.”
A central element of the Authority’s regulatory powers is the investigation of Property Services Providers (auctioneers, estate agents, letting agents and property management agents) and during 2024 the Property Services Regulatory Authority continued to actively pursue investigations of improper conduct. In this regard, the Authority concluded over 270 complaint investigations and more than 370 compliance audits.
Further highlights and statistics of note in the 2024 Annual Report include:
- Almost 1.7 million visitors to the Residential Property Price Register.
- 6,049 licence applications (new and renewal) processed.
- 375 compliance audit investigations of Property Services Providers completed.
- 274 complaint investigations against Property Service Providers concluded.
- 406 Anti-Money Laundering audits completed by the Authority.
- 8,332 Commercial Lease Returns published.
Reflecting on the activity of the Authority during 2024, Ms. Maeve Hogan, Chief Executive Officer of the Authority noted:
“2024 was another successful year for the Authority and we extend our gratitude to our Board members for their steadfast commitment and valuable contributions, along with the staff of the Authority who, through their continued dedication and commitment ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality results for the organisation.”
