The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD, has announced the appointment of Caitríona (Kate) de Búrca as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA).
Ms de Búrca will take up the CEO position with The Property Services Regulatory Authority on 22 October 2026.
Commenting, Minister Browne said:
I am delighted to have someone of Kate’s ability and experience leading the Property Services Regulatory Authority for the next five years. I would also like to thank Maeve Hogan for her excellent work as CEO of the Property Services Regulatory Authority for the last 11 years. Her long-standing experience in the role was invaluable to me when the responsibility for the Property Services Regulatory Authority was transferred to my Department in August 2025. Ms de Búrca has spent a number of years working in both the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation, and the Pensions Authority. Prior to working as a Civil Servant, she was an Associate Director in the Sherry FitzGerald Group. Her background experience in the property sector will serve her well in her new role.
Commenting on her appointment, Ms. de Búrca said:
I am honoured to be appointed CEO of the Property Services Regulatory Authority. I look forward to working with the PSRA team as we continue the important work undertaken under Maeve’s leadership, and to engaging with the Board, stakeholders and the wider sector to promote a well-regulated, transparent and trusted property services sector.
The Chairperson of the Property Services Regulatory Authority, Mr. Michael Quinlan said:
I am delighted at Ms de Búrca’s appointment to the position of CEO to the PSRA. The Board of the Authority wish her every success and look forward to working with her over the coming years.
